Ohms Law
Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across the two points.
= current through the conductor (amperes) = potential difference measured across the conductor (volts) = resistance of the conductor (ohms)
More specifically, Ohm's law states that the R in this relation is constant, independent of the current
- Amps = Volts / Ohms
- Amps = current flowing from (+) to (-)
- Volts = potential difference between (+) to (-)
- Ohms = resistence of the conductor
Ohm unit: when the difference between the (+) and (-) poles is 1.0 Volt,
X# Ohms of resistence are needed to conduct 1 Amp
